Everything you need to know about Support Care Training, the 11270NAT qualification, prerequisites, CPD points, and enrolment.

About the Course

11270NAT is a nationally accredited course number registered on the Australian Qualifications Framework. It represents Australia’s first and only first aid course specifically designed for the support care sector — covering aged care, disability support, youth services, community health, and family carers. Every stream includes a free sector-specific online micro-course delivered early in the learning journey.
No. 11270NAT builds on top of your existing HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificate. It adds the sector-specific skills, scenarios, and emergency response techniques that generic first aid doesn’t cover. You need a current HLTAID011 as a prerequisite — or you can bundle both together.
Standard first aid (HLTAID011) is designed for the general public. It doesn’t address seizure management in wheelchairs, emergency response for non-verbal individuals, falls involving anticoagulant medications, mental health crises in youth settings, or dementia-sensitive emergency care. 11270NAT was built specifically to cover these gaps.
It’s a blended course: online theory (typically 3–6 hours) before attending a 6-hour face-to-face practical workshop for skills practice and assessment. If you need HLTAID011 as well, you can book the 2-day combined option.
It’s blended: online theory first (3–6 hours) followed by a face-to-face practical workshop. Delivery is available via partner venues across NSW (Newcastle primary) and on-site for group bookings Australia-wide.
